This was the first tower that went up and got sheared over. It completely evaporated into thin-air within 10 minutes of this picture.
This awesome shot is of the tower that would slowly evolve into the supercell near St. Joe, MO nearly FOUR HOURS later.
Same cumulus tower as the previous shot
3 hours later... finally starting to ramp up
Capture of the live stream as we're rooting it on. Rock solid updraft now
Finally takes on supercell characteristics
Beautiful LP (low-precip) structure
Pileus Caps (the 'hats' or wispy clouds on top) indicate dry air above the updraft ... the sun begins to set
LP supercell begins to mature, four and a half hours after we saw it begin as a small puff of cumulus. Wall cloud and RFD clear slot present
area of convergence tightens into a cone shaped lowering, some sort of weird banding on the RFD side of the updraft/downdraft interface
