Chad Cowan > May 29, 2009 - Staccato lightning - somewhere in Texas, about a 7-iron north of Mexico. My best lightning shot. Ever. Note how there is a thin bright line above the dark horizon, that is the terrain behind the bolt being lit up.

I would set my cheap camera to a long exposure setting, plant it on the hood of my Explorer, hold my breath and push the button. This is what I like to call a 'happy-accident'.

Chad Cowan > Rotation tightens (note how vertical the right side is compared to the last shot) as a clear slot becomes evident to the left. There may be a tornado in this shot, in the middle of the wall cloud, but again, I'm enjoying the structure too far away from the base to have a definitive answer.
